Credentials and Qualifications…
I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology, with honors, at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. For over a decade, I have provided psychological care for children at Chicago's Children's Memorial Hospital, The University of Minnesota Medical School Department of Pediatrics, and in private practice. I have lectured across North America on child psychology and neurodevelopment and currently enjoy teaching at Santa Rosa Junior College. In 2003 I was nominated to Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare for pioneering work in the treatment of children with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, through a federally funded research project.
As a pediatric specialist, I have an established mission to help children and their families adjust to life changes and losses, improve coping with medical and development issues, learning disabilities, and to manage emotional and behavioral challenges with confidence. I use a collaborative care model to help families and other pediatric specialists work together to create positive outcomes for children and teens. I combine my clinical acumen with the compassion, optimism, and deep caring that I bring to my work. By sharing my warmth and humor, I hope to set kids and families at ease, to create the environment of comfort and security so necessary to a productive therapeutic relationship. |
